Aeolian Ride - San Francisco
Jessica is on her way now from NY to LA where she will be holding another Aeolian Ride! If you’re around la-la land go check it out.
September 10th, 6:17 pm, @ Santa Monica + Vermont in front of the Red Line Station

the extreme fashion special sessions panel went well. this photo by “the notorious JBC” shows maggie orth (also up on the big screen behind us) me, elise co, jenny tillotsen, and thad starner up on stage in main west hall B. what a nerve-wracking and exciting experience! but all the panelists were all so top notch and maggie and thad were such great yet totally different sources for inspiration.
So I’ve been blogging a bit more on Popgadget these days. You may want to check it - I’ve been doing write-ups of Siggraph 2005 fashion/tech projects.
We’re holding a DIY Wearable Challenge in the Guerilla Studio on Monday from 10am - 1pm and 4pm - 6pm. The break inbetween is to allow for the George Lucas Keynote, which i’m sure many will be attending. The “best of” the DIY Wearable Challenge makes it into the Cyberfashion show. come and make a DIY wearable in five hours!
I’m getting pretty psyched for this event: Open stitch, at Location One this September in New York City.
Here’s the description:
15 artists will spend seven days at Location One working intensely and in restricted conditions to produce wearable creations with only the tools and materials provided to them. A cross between art and fashion, the project temporarily removes the gallery from the appointed function of “showing” and moves it to the world of artistic production, raising questions about the circumstances, both physical and mental, of the creative process.
jonah and i will be in dublin next week for artbots. we’re going to do a midi scrapyard challenge. check out the artbots press release.
I’m here at WIRED Nextfest 2005 showing Urban Chameleon. The event continues today and tomorrow. Haven’t seen much of Chicago beyond Navy Pier and immediate surroundings. Maybe on Monday when the event is over.
