HUG JACKETS AND CLICK SNEAKS
despina has a couple of new cute projects… the hug jackets use a conductive fabric panel to trigger sound when two people hug, building on the love jackets, which chirp when a loved one is near.
click sneaks, are sneakers that click like high heeled shoes when the wearer walks.
of course, it’s not a new project, but it’s still my favorite… the courtly bags, done in collaboration with as four. they operate much like the love jackets, chirpring when in proximity to another bag, yet play back user customizable patterns that can be downloaded via a desktop application.
… swanky.
edit: forgot to add, the hug jackets also remind me of alison ’s lewis’ project, closer. i blogged about them and other like it and another projects here. closer also responds to “real hugs” by playing sounds, but also keeps track of the number of hugs within an hour. despina was also apparently alison’s thesis advisor…
