FLASH DRIVE JEWELRY

emily conrad, a graduating 2004 itp student is creating digital lockets out of usb flash drives.
Much like the traditional locket, which was originally crafted to house a lock of your lover’s hair, this digital locket is intended to house sentimental digital media. My goal as a trained metalsmith and digital artist is to hand create beautiful, elegant designs that celebrate the metaphors of technology that mate the ethereal with the tangible. And in the spirit of Duchamp, the user completes the experience.
they are “completely handmade using either sterling silver, 14K yellow gold, 18K white gold”… swanky.
EDIT: since a couple of people have asked, this is the link to Emily Conrad’s current portfolio site. Her email is right there on the main page. Have fun!
