Irish President Praises Chinese and Condemns Racism

At ten thousand strong, the Chinese population is the largest and longest established ethnic minority in Northern Ireland.

In recent years it has been increasingly vulnerable to racist attacks particularly in Loyalist areas of Belfast.

Earlier this year it was claimed that 40 Chinese families had to flee from south Belfast because of harassment from paramilitaries.

yeah, remember this guardian article, which detailed some of the vicious harassement people of color have recieved in the north. makes dublin look like a picnic!

back from sweden. workshops and talk went great. i’m leaving again tomorrow, things are busy, and i guess i may not get around to putting anything up until many days from now.

Much like the traditional locket, which was originally crafted to house a lock of your lover’s hair, this digital locket is intended to house sentimental digital media. My goal as a trained metalsmith and digital artist is to hand create beautiful, elegant designs that celebrate the metaphors of technology that mate the ethereal with the tangible. And in the spirit of Duchamp, the user completes the experience.

they are “completely handmade using either sterling silver, 14K yellow gold, 18K white gold”… swanky.

i have a large family. a lot of siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. it’s great… and this summer i’ll see many of them in europe! we’re all on our own adventures… but it’s nice to have so many points that connect. and beyond this summer? more connections… in other parts of the world… (yeah, it’s great!)
