Alison Lewis has released the link to her thesis website: Closer - garments that respond to touch. reminds me of Francesca Rosella and Rikako Sakai’s work on F+R hugs, though upon closer inspection the two projects function in different ways.

From what I can tell of the documentation Get Closer responds with light and sound to actual hugs or touch. F+R hugs is telematic and can be activated via mobile phone or another hug garment. F+R garments respond with heat, pressure, and light.
edit: Francesca wrote to me awhile back, asking that I change the above link to the cute circuit website. Well I changed it to the page linked at the IVREA site, since I sorta feel this is the link that was most relevant at the time I posted.
