ask 01 applies a ROM-player specially developed for this project. It is able to play loops of up to 30 seconds long sound samples. Having the size of a credit card it is easily and safely incorporated in the cloth. The audio is played back on four piezo speakers integrated in the double layers of the material. Located on sleeves and collar the character of perfume is adapted.
strategy
Our environment is filled with noise. The border between private and public has vanished. We are exposed to the situation and not aware of it. Our intuitive reaction is either to close all windows (of your room/ of your mind) or to cover it by loud music. What is missing in our environment is the sensibility.
Our strategy is to work with subtle sounds emitted from special clothes. A person wearing the cloth interweaves with the sounds of the environment. With the filigree sound tentacles the individual fuses with other signals and information. In this way the individual acts neither passive (closing the windows) nor dominant (play loud music) but active.
i just love this project so much! the design and the concept are so delicate and poetic.

The acoustic module ask02 consists of many acoustic atoms. Properly connected each acoustic Module gives subtle signals and pulses to the environment. The surrounding light triggers the sound of the module. Changing light condition affect the quality and level of the emitted frequencies.
